EQ KIDS CREW!
So Much More Than a Game.
It's never too early, or too late, for kids to learn about their emotions, and what better way to teach them these lifelong skills than with a fun and impactful game? If you've ever wanted to understand your child better, learn their true feelings about a certain situation, or get them to open up more, then this is the perfect game for you.
The EQ Kids Crew™ was created to help adults make learning about emotions fun and easy. Through the use of humor, sensory learning, interactive exercises, and relatable characters kids will have the tools to increase their emotional vocabulary and find techniques that work for them to manage their emotions.
It is a non-competitive game that allows kids to focus on the learning aspect instead of winning.
WHAT IS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?
Emotional intelligence (also known as EQ or EI) can be broken down into four different categories:
-
Understanding our own emotions.
-
Understand how to manage our emotions.
-
Understand the emotions of others.
-
Managing our relationship with others.
These skills are necessary for all aspects of our lives as we get older and interact more with others. When we are able to express our emotions in healthy ways and build resilience, we can develop stronger, more meaningful relationships in our families, friendships, and workplaces and create a more fulfilling life.
Building emotional skills helps children learn valuable life skills like:
Somocom Lab's Emotional Intelligence Framework
RECOGNIZE THEIR EMOTIONS
Kids will be able to sense when they are feeling big emotions.
ARTICULATE THEIR FEELINGS
They can say how they feel instead of feeling confused and bottling it up.
REGULATE THEIR BEHAVIORS
They will also learn how to make healthy coping strategies their norm.

THE FOUNDATION
The game uses the emotion wheel (developed by Geoffrey Roberts) as the foundation for the terms. The emotion wheel helps us clearly identify what we're feeling at the very basic level (the inner core emotions) to the deepest level.
SIMPLE YET IMPACTFUL CARD DESIGN
The cards sport a simple and colorful design to avoid sensory overload and confusion. Each of the seven emotions has its own color to help children identify the cards and emotions quickly.
The definitions were all developed to be kid-friendly and easy to understand. The emotion card activities provide conversation starters that help kids open up in a way that makes them comfortable without feeling forced or awkward.
FUN AND INTERACTIVE BEHAVIOR TECHNIQUES
The variety of body regulating activities allows kids to incorporate different techniques varying from speaking mantras and affirmations to playing pretend instruments. Kids will be able to choose from a variety of these techniques in the full game to find the ones they would naturally use themselves. The best part is that they allow kids to practice techniques they can do all by themselves.
All about play!
Play is such an important part of learning for kids and adults. The game incorporates seven different styles of play to keep it fun while they are learning:
-
Socio-dramatic play - act out experiences
-
Social play - everyone follows rules
-
